The DevOps Engineer will be engaged in the optimization of processes and tooling affecting the engineering department across the Verint CES product lines. They will be involved in the development and support of solutions which enhance the efficiency of engineering as well as configuration of tools and responding to the on-going needs of the engineering team as a primary customer. These solutions will involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives and engineering teams.
As part of optimization the DevOps Engineer will need to work with a variety of tools as work may be required in the configuration or use of such tools. They will be involved in supporting our strategic move of products into the cloud performing DevOps activities and working with technologies such as Chef, Docker, Puppet, Maven, Artifactory, Jenkins, TeamCity, Ansible, Virtualization and more as required to automate the process of packaging, provisioning and deployment.
In what areas will you perform?
Develop key skills and knowledge of Verint applications.
Understand the value of the optimization work and who it will benefit
Ensure the quality of the solution being delivered, testing its functionality before it is consumed by main engineering
Consults with users and architects to understand how their solution can be delivered in a manner which benefits them
Draws effective boundaries in order to ensure that priorities are met.
Development of solutions within agreed timescales.
Prioritizes work effectively.
Breaks large tasks into smaller ones and sets milestones, identifies and plans for dependencies.
Participate in team meetings.
Participate in internal departmental activities – API / build reviews.
Participate in external departmental activities - University / industry engagements.
- Identify, highlight and if possible resolve issues - otherwise escalate issues to senior team members.
Report daily progress of your tasks to your manager.
Provide appropriate and regular communication to all relevant parties.
Provide regular updates about self-development and learning needs to mentor / line manager.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a software development team
Strong Experience with Windows and Linux based applications
Scripting languages in Windows and Linux (bash, python, PowerShell)
Experience with automated deployment methods / continuous integration (CI-CD)
Strong troubleshooting & debugging capabilities, both technically and personally in a development team
Experience working with Global organizations
Experience with CM tools such as Ansible or Puppet
Experience with TeamCity and/or Jenkins pipelines and other CI tools
Experience with SVN, Git, Bitbucket, Jira.
Experience with databases and data pipeline components.
- Experience working in a large Global organisation
- Able to provide examples of collaborative, high performance team working

Specific Qualifications and Accreditations
A degree or post graduate qualification in Computer Science or Software Engineering at 2:1 or above or relevant experience
At least 3 years’ experience in a DevOps or relevant Automation Development role
